There have been a few comments and notes (from UHK themselves too!), which I've summarized again in this handy thing we call the Cheesy Times.

The Appendix

Wrist Rest Size vs. Desktop/Table
From @jammies710 comes a comment regarding the desk size:

  • "Too bad the palm rest is the way it is because it's too long, would press on the wrists and push the keyboard further from the edge of the desk."

This crossed my mind too, but I ended up not mentioning it in the video. I think it's a very valid concern that should not be ignored, thanks for this comment!

Corrections!
I got some things wrong, and UHK added a thorough comment, which I will attempt to summarize:

  • The keycaps are made of PBT, not ABS. (Can't believe I got this wrong...)
  • Future versions of the UHK80 will have palm rests made of the same wood.
  • The issue with the magnet coming off has been addressed and only affected a couple of units. (I seem to be really lucky with getting these types of units.)
  • A future hardware switch to power the board on/off is coming; no more software locks.
  • Strictly speaking, the dongle allows a higher mouse refresh rate than Bluetooth, which, in turn, can improve accuracy, especially on high-refresh-rate displays.

The comment regarding firmware customization I will just paste as a whole, as I think it's a really interesting approach to customization:

  • "Your bongo cat firmware modification is incredible! :D It's worth mentioning, though, that the UHK is generally designed to be customized via Agent and smart macros, so one shouldn't need to set up a toolchain. We'll integrate an LLM with Agent to generate smart macros from text instructions, enabling highly sophisticated configurations in seconds without installing anything beyond Agent."

Finally, here are some related/unrelated tidbits about what has been going on in the past few weeks on this side of the cheese:

  1. Dygma!
    Also mentioned in the comments was the Dygma Raise 2 as an alternative to the UHK80, which looks really interesting. They also have a columnar version called the Defy. Thanks to @minues and @dweblinveltz5035 for the suggestion! If things go well, I will try to get my hands on one of these as well to do a review.
  2. WorkLouder XYZ Work Board r2
    This week I received my XYZ Work Board which I bought back in October of 2025. It will likely be the June/July video after the Ugoos Streaming box which I am currently working on. If you have any questions regarding it, just let me know!
  3. On the spotlight
    I recently bought an additional light for production, the SmallRig RF 20C, I'm not quite sure how I will incorporate it in the videos. But I want to spice up the shots a bit and wanted something small enough to fit within my setup that still allows me to shape the light. I'm curious if it will be noticeable in the next video and if it actually improved anything. 🙂
